PROJECT PUP
Pets Uplifting People
A Volunteer Organization
GENERAL PUP INFORMATION
For Prospective Volunteers
Project PUP (Pets Uplifting People) is an animal assisted therapy group. All animals
which make visits are personally-owned pets, which must pass a screening process
to determine that they have a suitable temperament for visitation. They must be
examined by a veterinarian, and the updated health certificates are kept on file
at our office. Volunteers are to provide copies of these certificates to each facility
that they visit. Children are welcome to visit with their pets but must be accompanied
at all times by a responsible adult.
The procedure for enrolling as a Project PUP volunteer starts with a phone call
to one of the PUP Screening Coordinators. An appointment to attend the
next scheduled screening will be made and you will receive a packet of information,
including the necessary paperwork to fill out. Screenings are held bi-monthly. If
all available appointments have been taken, you will be informed of the next screening
date.
